Chartered
in 1971, the Ontario Paint Horse Club is proud to be a part
of the fastest growing breed organization in the world.
The Ontario Paint Horse Club offers something for everyone.
Our aim is to promote and enjoy the American Paint Horse,
whether in the show ring, on the trails, or simply at home
in the backyard. We strive to maintain a club atmosphere
suitable to encourage high moral character and sportsmanship
among our members, and to develop the capabilities of our
Youth and Amateurs in the breeding, raising and exhibiting
of Paint Horses.
Each year the club sponsors approximately 20 Shows throughout
Ontario. As well as earning APHA Points, Ontario members
can earn OPHC Points and are eligable for a vast array of
Year End awards that are presented at our annual banquet
each January. As well as the appropriate high point awards,
trophies are given for the Most-Improved and Most-Sportsmanlike
Amateur & Youth.
The OPHC offers a full line of classes for Youth, Novice
& Amateurs.
This year the Ontario Paint Horse Futurity, held in conjunction
with the Canadian International Paint Horse Championships,
will award over $10,000 in cash and prizes to horses 2 and
under, and the Maturity offers added money classes for 3
& 4 year olds.
For those members showing in non-APHA venues, the club
has an Outside Competitive Activites Program (OCAP) that
can earn them certificates for achievements with their paint
horse outside of the clubs activities.
Recently an Achievement Award program was added which recognizes
participation for members who may not own their own horse
or ride.
